Math and Art, Explore and Find丨数学与艺术,探索与发现
Over the October holiday, Maple Leaf Chongqing high school students were asked to take a picture that represented a mathematical concept and explain what the picture represented. This activity is part of an international Math competition and was organized by our math department leader, Mrs. Nancy Klausner. Mrs. Klausner is passionate about giving students the opportunity to develop their mathematical skills outside of the classroom. She also works hard to ensure that students have the chance to express themselves and highlight their strengths.
十一国庆期间,重庆枫叶国际学校举办了“以图画展现数学”为主题的摄影比赛。此项活动是摄影比赛,也是国际数学竞赛,由外方数学教研组组长Mrs. Nancy Klausner组织发起。Mrs. Klausner热情教学,工作尽职尽责,为同学们创造了走出教室学习数学知识的机会,帮助他们展示自我风采。
Taking a picture and explaining the concept it represented helped students to develop the Key Competencies of Information Literacy, Creative Thinking, Problem Solving and Personal Responsibility and Integrity. Developing these skills will be essential for success both in school and beyond. Participating in international competitions will also help students to strengthen their university applications. There are several international competitions that students at Maple Leaf Chongqing will have the opportunity to participate in this year.
拍摄图片,阐释其中的数学原理,有助于同学们培养与提升信息解读、创新思考、问题解决、个人责任与诚信意识等核心素养能力。能力提升对在校学习与人生发展至关重要,参与国际赛事也能更好地助力同学们的大学申请。今年,枫叶学子也可根据国际赛事日程表报名参与各项比赛。

The upper body of Dongshuimen Yangtze River Bridge, which looks like a polynomial function, supports the grand bridge and connects two districts in Chongqing with its rich history of Chinese people's efforts within the construction process and the brilliant engineering technology.

To build such a spectacular, the engineer should design in advance and calculate all the bridge data, and ensure all the data of bridge are accurate to ensure make people safe.
