关于她对枫叶的三次解读。

Distinguished fellow guests, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon.
（亲爱的来宾，女士们，先生们下午好）

To begin my talk, it's best if I gave a brief introduction of myself first, so that to hopefully, give all of you, a basic image of who I am, and how is my view towards Maple Leaf formed, based on the life I’ve led.
（首先我想为大家简单介绍一下我自己，以及我对枫叶的看法是如何产生的）
My name is Zeng Ziyun and I am currently a12th grader of Maple Leaf Educational Park, Wuhan campus. I’m the child of two optimistic parents who inspire me to live in the present and to appreciate the gratefulness of being alive.
（我叫曾子芸，目前是武汉枫叶教育园区高三年级学生。我有一对乐观的父母，他们教育我要活在当下，并感谢生命的恩赐。）
I’m the big sister of a little girl who make me become more patient and taught me to take responsibility as her role model. I’m a performer on stage who brings enthusiasm to the audience through singing and instrument playing. I’m a hard worker at school who’d always seek for chances to apply what I’ve learned and exchange ideas with teachers and classmates.
（我是一个小女孩的大姐姐，她使我变得更有耐心，也教会了让我成为她的榜样的责任。我是一个能够在舞台上通过唱歌、乐器演奏让观众“热起来”的表演者。同时我也是一名很努力的学生，我一直会寻找机会学以致用，并老师同学交换各自的想法。）
That’s pretty much about who I am, but that’s not the keypoint. The key point of my speech today, is how I am assisted to change for the better, with the knowledge, and the opportunities I get from Maple Leaf.
（这大概就是我了，但不是重点。重点是我今天的演讲内容，是我如何通过从枫叶得到的知识、机会而变得更优秀。）

I started my journey at Maple Leaf school three years ago, when I at last, could no longer bear in mind with the rigorous learning system in public school. I hate to admit but, I did freak out encountering zhongkao, senior high entrance exam, which was the last straw driving me to run away from the duck-stuffing education system. Maple Leaf to me back then, was merely a place where I seemed to be able to get away from heavy study load, and hence why I chose to study at Maple Leaf.
（我的枫叶之旅是三年前开始的，我当时不能再忍受公立学校里枯燥的教育体制。虽然很不想承认，但当时的我着实被中考吓坏了。初升高考试，最后一次的推动了我逃离填鸭式教育。当时枫叶对我来说，大概就是一个我认为逃离沉重课业压力的地方，而这就是我当时来枫叶的原因。）

But my view towards Maple Leaf does change over time.
（但我对枫叶的看法在之后被改变了）
I used to see schools and personal life separately. I used to see schools, as the kind of place that you’d go to do nothing but study.
（以前我明确区分校园生活与个人生活，因为我当时认为学校就是那种你除了学习以外什么都不做的地方。）

It’s true that unlike standard high schoolin China, where students face extremely competitive conditions, being describedas “thousands of soldiers and tens of thousands of horses across a single logbridge”, Maple Leaf, on the other hand, is more like a place where you learn to balance your study and your life, or in other words, a place that teaches you to integrate study into your life, to make learning a part of yourself.
（不像中国大多数的普通高中那样，学生们面临着极高的竞争因素，被形容成“千军万马过独木桥”。而枫叶学校就更像一个让你学会平衡学习与个人生活的地方，换句话说，这是一个教会你如何将学习正确的融入个人生活，并成为你生活中的一部分。）
Students are encouraged, to step off campus, to try fitting into society, through extra curricular activities including aid-education, independent research, competitions and travel, and there by being exposed to a world that they will potentially face later in life, which is an essential skill that they will benefit from in adulthood.
（学生们被鼓励着走出校门，融入社会。通过额外的课程活动例如急救课程；独立研究；活动竞赛还有旅行提前看到了这个将来迟早会面临的世界，锻炼了成人阶段进入社会后将会受益终生的能力。）

One activity that I participated in is an aid-education project. As a girl who grew up in a burgeoning city, I didn’t know much about what it was like to be living in remote areas. My knowledge about being in accessible to modern facilities was limited and I wasn’t so thankful for what I had back then. One trip to this small village, however, gives me a different view of this world.

（其中我参与了一项急救教育项目，对于我一个在大城市长大的女孩子来说，我不知道在偏远地区生活的感觉。我发现在这所现代化城市里掌握的技能在这里发挥的十分局限，因此这一趟乡村之行，让我对这个世界有了改观。）

When I was in grade 10, six friends of mine and I participated in an aid-education activity in yingcheng, an under developed district in my province, over thesummer break. Each one of us was assigned with one course that we should teach the students about. The condition was hard, though, with derelict shacks, unrecognizable insects, I still enjoyed being with those kids, seeing little sparkles in their eyes. I felt glad that I was doing this so that I could expose them to the outside world by bringing them new knowledge and thoughts. As fo rme, this experience encourages me to see the world from another prospective, making me more eager to make good use of what I have. Also, I learned that we should be grateful and don't ever take others’ help for granted.
（高一的时候，我和另外六个朋友一起参与了这个在应城开展的急救教育活动，这是一个我省还不是特别发达的县级市。我们每个人被分配了一门课程教给当地学生们。条件十分艰苦，房屋比较破旧，还有连名字都叫不出来的昆虫，但是我仍然很享受与那些小孩子们相处的时光。看着他们眼睛里闪烁的光，让我很庆幸能够给他们带来外面大城市的一些知识和思想。而我，这次经历让我从另一个角度审视了这个世界；让我更加珍惜我所拥有的资源；学会了感恩，不要认为其他人给予自己的帮助是理所当然的。）

The meat that I took away from this experience was a lot, but I do need to express my gratefulness to Maple Leaf as well. Imagine me sitting in the classroom of any other high school, with all kinds of textbooks laying around me, I wouldn’t ever be part of any activities that I just mentioned. It is Maple Leaf school, that gives me courage and help, to actively take part in a variety of activities, and learn from all this.
（这次经历让我收获良多，当然，我也非常感激枫叶学校。想象我坐在其它普通高中的教室里，被成堆的课本作业包围着，我也许永远也没法成为这次活动的一份子。是枫叶学校，给了我勇气与帮助，主动地去参与各类活动并从中学习。）

Another thing I learned from Maple-Leaf-way of teaching is to reflect on what I’ve learned instead of taking notes and believing in every single words that the teacher says. Teachers in Maple Leaf are relatively more open-minded and inspiring, that they love to hear student’s voice and stance, rather than spoon-feeding us with a bunch of stuff. Teachers in Maple Leaf values our opinions, making us even more eager to think critically and have a say for ourselves.
（另一个我在枫叶教育体制下受益的能力是：对所学内容进行反思与延伸，而不是单纯的做着笔记并盲目相信老师所讲的每一个字。枫叶学校老师们的思想相对的更开放，让我们的灵感更容易被启发。他们非常喜欢听到学生们自己的声音与立场，而不是把知识直接灌输给我们。他们尊重、重视我们的意见和想法，让我们更加渴望去批判性的思考，为自己的立场发声。）

Based on the talk I just gave, it seems that studying at Maple Leaf is a quite relaxing thing to do, but you haven’theard the whole story yet. As a grade 12 students, who just finished her semester1 final exams four days ago, I do have a fair amount of things to say.
（根据以上我所讲的内容，听起来在枫叶学习是一件很轻松的事情，那是因为你还没有听完整个故事。作为一名在四天前刚刚结束她第一学期期末考试的高三年级学生。我还有好多东西要说。）

Over the past half year, I did study really hard to catch up on everything I was thrown with. With my dorm mates, we often stayed up till midnight, and still, failed to finish all of the work. It sounds like the way we studied was just like in public high school, but it is not, and let me tell you the difference.
（在过去的半年里，我为了赶上整体进度而非常努力学习，与我的室友一起经常到凌晨才睡觉，但仍然无法完成所有需要完成的内容。听起来这种学习方式和普通高中没区别，但是你错了，让我告诉你原因。）
I had Biology, Chemistry, Math and Journalism all together in the same semester, and if you are familiar with BC curriculum, you will understand how heavy this schedule is. But I was the one who chose to push myself so that I can hopefully, fit in with the even more strict study module in university, and I survived. After two years of relaxing study experience at Maple Leaf, I made the decision that I shall put a bit pressure on me in the final year, and though it was nerve-wracking, I made it, and I am proud of my decision. Thanks to Maple Leaf, I learned to study, not for someone else, but for myself, for my life later intime.
（我这学期的课程里有生物学、化学、数学和新闻学。如果你熟悉BC省教育体制，你就会知道这样课表安排压力有多么的大。但这是我自己的选择，因为这样可以推动我自己，让我将来到了课业压力更大的国外大学后，能够更轻易的适应并坚持下去。两年相对轻松的学年过后，我做了这个让我在最后一年有压力的决定。虽然过程十分艰难，但是我做到了，而且我对当初自己做的这个决定十分自豪。感谢枫叶，我学会了学习不是为了别人，而是为了我自己，为了我未来的人生。）

Today, it is my great pleasure, to be standing here, delivering such address.
（今天，我很荣幸能够站在这里演讲。）
I love Maple Leaf, for the knowledge I harvest, for the opportunities I experienced, for the kind of person I become.
（我爱枫叶，为了那些我所收获的知识；为了那些我所经历的机会，和我现在所蜕变成为的人。）
As I said, I have many different roles, and without the presence of any of them, I wouldn’t be myself. It’s the very combination of all of them that makes me unique.
（正如我所说，生活中我扮演着各种“角色”，少了其中任何一个都不会是真正我。但正是这巧妙的融合，让我变得独一无二。）
