演说力就是个人竞争力

On the threshold of Hubei Final Round of 2017 “Maple Leaf Cup” CCTV Star of Outlook English Talent Competition, we invited Mr. Xia Hui, lecturer of Power Holdings and Teenager Potential Inspiring Mentor, to give us a training on speech skills.

2017“枫叶杯”CCTV希望之星英语风采大赛湖北省赛来临之际，我们荣幸地邀请到了能量演说金牌讲师、青少年潜能激发导师夏辉老师为我校晋级到湖北省预选赛的选手和部分家长进行了演讲技巧赛前专题培训，为即将参加比赛的选手们开了一剂良方。

Mr. Xia analyzed several methods to overcome the common symptoms of public speeches by taking examples of his previous embarrassed speech experience, from which contestants learnt how to correctly face the setback and fear when giving a speech, thus boosting their confidence and courage.

通过列举演讲时最普遍的五大症状，夏老师结合自身的实际经历向选手们一一剖析了克服演讲恐惧的几个有效办法。比如在讲述十年前公众演讲出丑的经历时，夏老师诙谐地重现了当时的情景，并以此告诫选手们，与其在出丑时尴尬地发呆，不如从哪里摔倒就从哪里爬起来；挫折即是存折；只有勇敢地站起来，大家的信心和勇气才会增长。

On speech skills, Mr. Xia taught us a tip which is summarized by many a great speakers, that is the percentage of content, variation of pronunciation and intonation, body language and facial expression. The number of percentage is rigid but the examples are vivid. In order to make contestants get the hang of these figures, Mr. Xia invited a few contestants to the stage to show the diverse expressing effects by varying intonation and pauses.

在演讲技巧方面，夏老师和大家分享了众多演讲家总结的经验，即演讲者在文字内容、语音语调变化以及肢体语言和面部表情三个方面应该投入的比例。数字是机械的，但实例是鲜活的。考虑到死板的数字未必能让选手们有深刻的领会，夏老师邀请选手们上台，向大家演示了以不同的断句和语音语调说话而起到的不同表达效果。

Afterwards, Mr. Xia shared three edge tools of body language and struck a grand chord in the audience. The contestants were quite active in practicing on the stage; when imitating President Xi’s speech in 2017 World Economic Forum, all contestants were in full swing and took every chance to foster the speech momentum with a real buzz around the auditorium.

随后，夏老师又向大家展示了演说时的三把“利器”——金手指、小铁锤和小菜刀，场下的观众纷纷效仿，选手们更是踊跃上台练习；在模仿习主席发言时，大家结合自己学到的肢体语言等技巧，自由发挥，锻炼气势，现场气氛十分活跃。

The training drew to an end, but there is no end to progress. Wish all contestants to summon up the courage to make a speech in public and take actions with panache for the splendid future!

学习的时光总是短暂，讲座已经进入尾声，可是大家却意犹未尽。引用习大大的一句话：“历史是勇敢者创造的。”希望通过这次培训，选手们能拿出信心，采取行动，千锤百炼，携手向着未来前进！
