为了确保学生在暑假期间继续练习提高英语，为下学年做好准备，我们建议学生完成如下作业：

1. 使用www.memrise.com网址积累英语词组知识。

· 登陆网址：http://www.memrise.com/course/247209/english-phrasal-verbs-9/

使用学生自己的Memrise账户，学习并记忆动词词组（比如“put up”，“come on”，“sit down”等）

· 学习并复习Memrise动词词组课程中的单词卡。

· 认真聆听词组的发音

· 理解词组的含义和用法，为2019年9月返回武汉枫叶国际学校之后的学习做好准备。

2. 使用www.memrise.com网址复习本学年学过的英语词汇

· 使用学生自己的Memrise账户复习并记忆在武汉枫叶国际学校英语课堂上学到的重要英语单词的意思。

3. 每周看两部英文电影或暑假期间看完一部英文电视剧。

l 购买、下载或找别人借英文电影或电视节目，伴着英文字幕看，以练习听力理解能力。

4. 使用网站www.nciku.com，积累英语词汇。

l 创建一个账号，登陆后建立一个词汇表，同时将这些词汇写在笔记本上。

l 对于你认为发音困难的单词，在该网站仔细听该词的发音。

l 尽可能多地使用该网站。

5. 尽可能多地与朋友或家人用英语沟通。

6. 每天写英语日记。

l 每天写一段话，描述当天发生了什么事或是短期/长期的目标。

l 将这段话大声读出来，在http://babelfish.yahoo.com或www.nciku.com网站上检查语法与拼写。

Holiday Homework, Summer 2019

In order to continue practicing English over the summer and prepare for next school year, it is recommended that Maple Leaf students do the following:

1. Use www.memrise.com to build knowledge of English phrases.

· Use your Memrise account to study and memorize the meaning of English phrasal verbs (“put up,” “come on,” “sit down,” etc.) at http://www.memrise.com/course/247209/english-phrasal-verbs-9/

· View and review the flashcards in the Memrise phrasal verb course

· Listen to the pronunciation of the phrases

· Understand the meaning and usage of the phrases so you are ready when you return to MLIS-W in September 2019

2. Use www.memrise.com to review the English vocabulary you have learned this year.

· Use your Memrise account to review and memorize the meaning of the essential English words you learned in your MLIS-W English classes.

· Students entering their second year in the BC program should review:

o Vocabulary studied in Communications 11

3. Watch two English movies each week or one English TV series over the summer.

· Buy, download, or borrow English movies or TV shows and watch with English subtitles in order to practice listening comprehension

4. Use www.nciku.com to build English vocabulary.

· Create a user account and build a vocabulary list, write the vocabulary words in a notebook as well

· Listen to the pronunciation of words you find difficult to pronounce

· Use this website as often as you can

5. Practice spoken English with a friend or family member as often as you can.

6. Keep a daily journal in English.

· Write a short paragraph everyday about your daily activities or short-term/long-term goals

· Read your paragraph aloud, check grammar and spelling using http://babelfish.yahoo.com or www.nciku.com
