武汉枫叶国际学校一年一度的英语演讲比赛如约而至！

      今年的比赛经过激烈的班级海选后，高一和高二共有230名学生崭露头角、入围初赛，学生们对英语的热情和重视空前高涨。学生们精心准备比赛内容，只为在演讲中展现最好的状态。

      就在2021年11月2日和3日下午4-5点，初赛已经拉开了序幕，分别有7个教室和6个教室用作赛场，每个赛场都由一位外教担任评委。在英语中心的精心准备和策划下，在高一高二年级领事与外教的鼎力支持与配合下，初赛一切进展顺利。

      The annual English speech contest of Maple Leaf International School-Wuhan came as expected.

      This year, 230 competitors from Grade 10 and Grade 11 stood out for the preliminary round through a fierce class audition. This number is dozens more than in previous years! Which can be seen that students' enthusiasm and attention to English is unprecedentedly high. The contestants carefully prepared the content of the contest in order to show the best state in the speech.

      The preliminary round was held from 4 to 5 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd, 2021 for Grade 10 and 11 competitors. Seven and six classrooms were used respectively, and each classroom had an international teacher as the judge. It was owing to the careful preparation of ESL Center and the support of counselors and international teachers that the preliminary round came to a successful closure.

      此次演讲初赛给出三个话题，选手们可以任选一个话题进行演讲。

      所谓累沙成塔，积少成多。从学生们现场短短三四分钟的演讲来看，他们自信轻松的演讲状态和精彩绝伦的演讲内容足以说明日常的英语积累之多和认真备赛的时间之长。

      赛场中，除了学生们激情慷慨的演讲，还少不了评委们的认真聆听。他们都具备高度的职业素养，时而仔细斟酌打分，时而被选手们的演讲打动，感同身受。甚至有些评委会记录每个选手的闪光点和不足之处，并且给出宝贵的建议。

        Contestants can choose one of three given topics to give a speech.

        Many a little makes a mickle. Judging from the three or four minutes of the students' speech, their confident and relaxed state of speech and the wonderful content of speech are enough to find easily their large accumulation of English learning and the amount of time it takes to prepare for the contest.

        In addition to students' passionate and generous speeches, the judges who are highly professional also listened carefully while carefully weighing the score or moved by the speech of the contestants. There are even judges who record each contestant's strengths and weaknesses and give valuable advice.
