一场中西文化的碰撞，这个秀不简单

中国作为四大文明古国之一，拥有上下五千年的悠久历史，蕴含的文化博大精深。带着先哲们的不朽之作，中国传统文化从历史的深远处走来，在不知不觉中走进了武汉枫叶国际学校的每一个角落。

As one of the four ancient civilizations, China embraces a long history of 5,000 years containing profound culture. With the immortal works of the sages, traditional Chinese culture has been handing down from generation to generation which unknowingly stepped into every corner of Wuhan Maple Leaf International School.

上图为学生制作的《我眼中的中国文化》主题海报。2018年伊始，武汉枫叶国际学校的学子们便以《我眼中的中国文化》为主题，进行了一系列围绕中国文化的国际化探索。

The picture above is a poster designed by Maple Leaf students based on the theme of Chinese Culture in My Eyes. From the beginning of 2018, the students of Wuhan Maple Leaf International School has been carrying out a series of international explorations on Chinese culture with the theme Chinese Culture in My Eyes.

有的学生尝试用自己写的英语短文以及绘制的图画制作成海报，展示他们眼中的中国传统文化；有的学生尝试用毛笔书写英语单词与美文选段；有的学生尝试用英语歌曲唱出中国风的诗词与经典作品；有的学生尝试用小短剧演绎中国的习语以及经典故事。从寒假开始，为期数月的活动，学生们以英语为基础，用多种表现形式演绎中国的传统文化，收获良多。

Some students tried to make posters with their own written English essays and drawings which showed the traditional Chinese culture in their eyes. Some students worked hard to use Chinese calligraphy to write English words and English excerpts. Some students tried to sing Chinese classical works in English. Also, some students tried to use short skit to interpret Chinese idioms and classic stories. Starting from the winter vacation, the activity has been carrying through for several months. The students used English as a basis to interpret Chinese traditional culture in various styles of expressions and performances.

看着清逸俊秀的瓷器，古朴贴切的陶艺，心里顿生一股慰藉；看看那古老的前人遗迹，似乎能窥出历史的痕迹；每当阅读着那一卷卷诗书画卷，他们仿佛被洗礼；还有那些精细的民间艺术，传统节日，无不是对学生们精神上的洗礼。

Looking at the porcelain with handsome appearance and the ancient and quaint pottery craftsmanship, someone must feel a relief in his deep heart. While, looking at the ancient relics of the past, it seems that one is able to trace the treasure of history. Whenever a reader reads a scroll of poetry and calligraphy, he or she seems to be baptized. Moreover, the great folk art and traditional festivals are certainly spiritual baptism for students.

而在五月十日晚，武汉枫叶国际学校高中ESL将会组织学生进行一场以《我眼中的中国文化》为主题的盛大的英语艺术节文艺汇报演出。用英语去阐释学生们眼中的传统，一场中西文化的好戏，你一定不要错过哟。

On the evening of May 10^th, the high school ESL of Wuhan Maple Leaf International School will organize students to host a brilliant performance. This English Arts Festival final show will be based on the theme of Chinese Culture in My Eyes to explain the Chinese traditions in English. Such a fantastic show merging Chinese and Western cultures is warmly welcome your attendance.
