——记大英语中心4月集体教研 

Good classroom management is the base of carrying out teaching activities. A well-behaved class of high efficiency is the key to motivating students to engage themselves into the class. On April 17, all GEP staff had a workshop on the topic of “Classroom Management”.

良好的课堂管理是开展教学活动的基石,积极、高效的课堂才能引导学生融入课堂,提高学习效率。417日,大英语中心全体老师以“课堂管理”为主题进行了教研。

Before we started the workshop, GEP Director Vicki summarized the feedback on head office inspection. Four teachers shared their reflections on teaching with us after the inspector observed and commented on their classes. Afterwards, Amy and Betty analyzed the practice test results of March.

教研前的部门例会上,大英语中心Vicki主任总结了集团对武汉校区ESL教学工作的评估反馈,提出了英语团队在课标执行、阅读项目、英语课堂等方面的亮点及改进之处,四位老师和大家分享了与评估员的交流心得。随后,AmyBetty两位主任对3月等级模考成绩进行了分析和总结。

Subsequently, middle school team brought us three vivid short skits on students’ behavior problems teachers usually encounter in class, triggering everyone’s thinking on classroom management.

接下来,身着枫叶校服的初中团队自编自演了三场情景剧,还原了学生的一些课堂表现问题。特别在“学习习惯”一幕中,老师们演绎了两种不同版本,让大家为之触动——老师不同的态度和反应,对学生习惯的养成和性格的塑造有着重要的影响。

Teachers’ responsibility does not lie in teaching the knowledge only. Managing the students is part of teachers’ responsibility too. Starting from the roots of students’ misbehavior, Betty came up with five main methods of dealing with students’ misbehavior along with 33 pieces of advice, which lights up our way to improve classroom management.

作为课堂管理的核心,老师除了“教”,还有一个“管”的职责;而学生作为课堂管理的对象,同时也是课堂管理的主体。只有当教师的管理能力和学生的学习行为形成一个有序的整体,才能保证教学顺利进行。因此,Betty主任先从原因出发,从而引出如何应对课堂行为问题的五大方法——提高教师专业性,优化课堂设计,促进家校沟通,学会情绪管理和利用人格魅力。最后,Betty还归纳了33条建议,为老师们在管理课堂、开展教学时点亮了一盏明灯。
