——Reader Rafting阅读项目系列报道(三)

 

Background: Phonics is a method for teaching reading and writing of the English language by developing learners’ phonemic awareness — the ability to hear, identify, and manipulate phonemes, thus enabling beginning readers to decode new words by blending the sound-spelling patterns.

任务背景:英语自然拼读法通过直接学习26个字母及字母组合在单词中的发音规则,让学生在轻松愉快的氛围中,了解和学习英语字母组合的奥妙,建立字母及字母组合与发音的感知,掌握英语拼读规律,从而增学生的阅读能力与理解力。

(一)

Teacher: ESL teacher, Roger

指导老师:外教Roger

Activity: Students can pick any book and look through the words with long vowel “ee” in them, e.g. see, bee, between, and write one on each part of the folded paper and then to make a sentence using that word. They cut the left and right hands with a strip of paper that has been folded in between the hands and glued together. They can locate the “ee” words fast, and guess the meanings using pictures and phonics.

活动:学生们在分级读物里挑一本自己喜欢的书,找出书中有长元音ee”的单词,写在“小手”卡片上并造句。话音刚落,大家就迫不及待地去挑选读物了,关于友情、感受、童话、想象等等。再经过一番剪裁,手风琴样式的“小手”卡片已经初具模型了。Bee, teeth, feet, feel, Halloween……孩子们真是自带“放大镜”属性,不错过每一个任务单词。每周练习一个长元音,想必用不了多久,小枫叶们都将成为“单词达人”。

Activity: “ea” words and sentences were the targets of this reading class. Students were very active and happy with doing that while reading. Some were looking for the words directly; some would like to read the pictures before finding out the words. Most of them can catch teacher’s instructions and finished even two books. The jigsaw puzzle was well received by students. They spelled, combined, and matched in group work, and then the phonics and words were learned unconsciously in the game.

活动:拿到分级读物后,学生们要找出书中有长元音ea”的单词和句子。看一看,找一找,写一写。“老师,你帮我看看我这个找的对吗?”“老师,这一本我完了,我要换一本。”不一会功夫,孩子们都提前完成了任务。接下来要做拼词游戏了。“你找ea,我找ch。”“不是这张,你这是海滩,不是海。”大家或两人或三人一组,通力合作,将字母组合成单词,并和相应的图片进行配对。在游戏的同时,孩子们既学习了语音,又通过图片配对强化了对单词意思的理解。

It is worth mentioning that teachers had emphasized the rules for reading in library before they came, such as, handle the books with care; be quiet in the library; don’t take away any books etc. After reading, students helped with collecting books and pushing back the chairs. Wish you all to enjoy the relaxed learning moment while reading!

值得一提的是,来图书馆前,老师们已强调了阅读纪律,如:爱惜书本,不要喧哗,不随意带走等;学生们离开时,也和老师一起将图书馆收拾干净,桌椅摆放整齐。希望孩子们都能保持良好的阅读习惯,在阅读时享受每一个快乐时光!
