枫红十载，共舞未来

——记校庆英语嘉年华活动

During the school celebration week of the 10^th anniversary, the English Carnival sponsored by Greater English Project with the theme of “Go Green” was held on May 24.

正值武汉枫叶教育园区十周年校庆之际，由大英语工程主办、全体师生共同参与的“拥抱绿色，一起出发”英语嘉年华活动于5月24日在武枫园火热进行。

All Maple Leafers were in full swing to take part in these English activities. Student representatives from high school made a speech on environmental protection to advocate all of us to drive less and walk often. On middle school sports field, students were racing against time to answer the environmental questions which they learned in Maple Leaf classes. In elementary school, Ms. Rachel and Mr. Kevin were explaining the importance and necessity of environmental protection to students. Although they were elementary school students, they knew a lot to protect the environment, for example, turning off the lights, printing on both sides, recycling the used papers etc. Afterwards, they watched the English short skit “The Best Day of My Life”: the life on a beautiful and clean earth is the best memory indeed.

大课间铃声一响，学生老师们便聚集在间操广场。高中学生代表准备了环保主题演讲，号召大家“绿色行动”，从身边的点滴做起：少开车，多步行；少污染，多环保。初中校区的操场上奔跑着枫叶少年，大家争分夺秒地进行着“环保知识问答接力赛”。中国人均水资源量占世界多少？我国酸雨区面积占国土面积多少？小编随意做了两道题，一脸茫然，看来要赶紧回到枫叶课堂多补习补习了。小学陶琪老师和外教Kevin正在倡导大家理解和践行绿色环保理念，号召所有同学一起保卫校园环境。同学们都有哪些高招呢？离开教室和房间时关掉电灯，垃圾扔进垃圾桶，看完的报纸练习毛笔字，双面打印，不喝瓶装水……年纪小小，点子不少，老师为你们点赞！随后，大家还观看了由二年级带来的在2017“枫叶杯”CCTV希望之星英语风采大赛团体赛中获得湖北省特等奖的戏剧《生命中最美好的一天》；蓝天、绿树、花朵，没有被污染的地球才能让我们的生活更加美好！

During exercise break, elementary school students with various hairstyles lined up to describe their creative ideas in English. Paper cups, recycled papers, thick strings and any other materials they can think of became the crazy hairs through their imagination and creativity. Ms. Elaine was so kind to comb the hair for the girls patiently. The high school lobby also had a buzz around it with the activities such as spelling bee, environmental knowledge quizzes, and costume designing in progress. All and sundry itched to have a try to design the ingenious ones for fun. What’s more, “Go Green Action Mission” was ongoing among middle school students. Only when students fulfilled a task with witness’s signature like turning off the taps, not drinking bottled water and so on, can they get a prize from ESL Center.

午餐后，小学生们顶着他们的“疯狂头发”，早早聚在大厅，排着队向老师们用英文描述自己的头发创意。纸杯、废旧报纸、扭扭棒、掉落的树叶等材料设计的或怪异、或可爱、或时尚、或创意的发型，孩子们努力的表达，都为他们赢得了老师们的称赞。都说老师如妈妈，小编还偶遇张玲老师耐心地帮散掉头发的同学编辫子呢！高中教学楼一楼大厅更是人头攒动，热闹非凡；一边是环保知识问答和单词拼写，考验大家的英语积累和应用，一边是环保时装设计大赛，老师们和同学们积极踊跃地制作混搭风格的环保时装，可真是心（脑）灵（洞）手（大）巧（开）！还有初中校区全天进行的“绿色行动大闯关”活动，当同学们完成一项“绿色任务”，如没有饮用瓶装水、捡了一次垃圾、拧紧了水龙头等，就可以凭闯关卡积分，用实际行动来拥抱绿色。

Ten years of trials and hardships; ten years of youth and vigor. Time flies, but the solidarity of Maple Leafers always remains; time passes, but the spirit of “Strive for Excellence in Education” stays forever.
