单词是学习英语的基础。只有掌握了一定的词汇量，才能在听力、阅读、写作、口语等版块获得长足发展。今天让我们一起走进枫叶高中，看看老师们为鼓励学生更好的识记单词，都准备了哪些惊喜。

Words are the foundation of English learning. Only by mastering a certain amount of vocabularies can we make great progress in the aspects of listening, reading, writing and speaking. Today, let us go to Wuhan Maple Leaf International School seeing what efforts the school has made to encourage students to memorize words better.

首先英语课程中心的各位任课老师根据全班学生11-12月单词的测评状况，挑选出了本月在单词测评中表现全优以及进步最明显的学生名单，并为他们制作了奖状。老师们还为这些表现优秀的学生准备了精美的单词本，并亲笔在扉页写上了给他们的寄语。

First of all, all the ESL teachers picked out the students who had the best performance and improvement according to the score records in November's vocabulary tests. Meanwhile, they also prepared certificates of honor and some prizes like beautiful notebooks with wishes and signature written by these teachers on the front page for those students. 

之后，在全部班同学的见证下，老师为他们颁发了奖状和奖品，鼓励他们以后的学习能够再接再厉。

Afterwards, under the witness of all classmates, the teachers presented certificates and prizes to those hard workers and encouraged them to make persistent efforts afterwards.

同学们纷纷表示今后会更加努力，希望在今后的学习中，能够识记更多单词，并能更加精进自己的英语水平。

The students said they would work harder and try their best to memorize more words thus making more improvements in English proficiency in the future.
