走近诗与远方

   人们常说诗与远方，那你知道诗是什么，远方又是什么吗？或许每个人的远方属于不同的地方，但是关于诗的那些点点滴滴，却有迹可循。下面就让枫叶高中的Villa老师，给你讲讲诗的那些事儿吧。

   We always talk about poetry and distance, but do you know what poetry is, and what distance is? Perhaps different people have different distances, but the theory of poetry can be explained in same. Are you ready to know something about poetry? Now, let us come to Villa’s class in Wuhan Maple Leaf International School.

   首先，Villa老师给学生科普了”poem”和”poetry”的区别。”poem”的意思是“诗”，为可数名词，可以指具体的一首诗、两首诗、几首诗等。”poetry”的意思也是“诗”，但是它指的是诗的总称，为不可数名词。

Initially, Villa told students the difference between poem and poetry. Poem is a countable noun, which can specifically refer to one or several pieces of poem. While, for Poetry, it refers to poems in general,which is an uncountable noun.

   接下来，Villa老师给学生引入音节这个概念。音节是读音的最小单元，根据单词中的元音来划分。为了让学生们活学活用，老师请学生们划分自己英语名中的音节。之后，老师给学生们介绍了诗很重要的两个元素，头韵和尾韵，并通过各种诗文选段，让学生体会什么是头韵，什么是尾韵。

   Next, Villa introduced the concept of syllable to the students. Syllable is the smallest unit of pronunciation. Students could divide the syllables in the word according to the vowels. In order to train students how to divide syllables in a word, Villa asked the students to divide the syllables in their English names one by one. After that, Villa introduced rhyme and alliteration which are two of the most important elements in a poem. Through analyzing a variety of poetry selections, students had a basic understanding about alliteration and rhyme.

   诗歌是文学很重要的一部分，它的美可以极大地丰富学生们的精神世界以及文学底蕴。希望他们再接再厉，让诗伴随着他们一路走向属于他们的远方。

   Poetry, as a significant part in literature, its beauty can, to a large extent, enrich the students' spiritual world and literary knowledge. We hope that they can make persistent efforts in learning poetry and make it become their soul mate on the way to distance.
